Terms & Condition

Last updated: June 12 2026

Welcome to christineortizforjudge.com (the “Site”), the official campaign website for the election of Christine Ortiz as Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York, Kings County. This Site is published and authorized by Christine Ortiz for Civil Court Judge, the candidate’s authorized campaign committee registered with the New York State Board of Elections (the “Committee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using this Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By visiting, browsing, contributing through, or otherwise using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated here by reference. These Terms apply to all visitors, supporters, contributors, and volunteers.

2. About This Site and the Campaign Committee

This Site provides information about Christine Ortiz’s candidacy for Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York in Kings County, shares news and endorsements, accepts volunteer sign-ups, and receives lawful campaign contributions. Consistent with the New York Rules Governing Judicial Conduct (22 NYCRR Part 100), the candidate does not personally solicit or accept campaign contributions. All contributions are solicited, received, held, and managed by the Committee through its treasurer and designated depository, as required by New York Election Law § 14-118. The Site is for informational and political purposes only.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to make a contribution or submit personal information through this Site. By using the Site, you represent that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate, current, and complete.

4. Campaign Contributions

Contributions to the Committee are governed by Article 14 of the New York Election Law and are processed through our third-party payment partner (e.g., ActBlue). By contributing, you also agree to that partner’s terms and conditions, and you certify that:

    • The contribution is made from your own funds and in your own name, not those of another person or entity, and not as a reimbursement for another’s contribution (New York Election Law § 14-120 prohibits contributions made in any name other than that of the true contributor).
    • You are not a foreign national (other than a lawfully admitted permanent resident); contributions from foreign nationals are prohibited under federal law (52 U.S.C. § 30121), which applies to state and local elections.
    • If you are contributing on behalf of a corporation or limited liability company (LLC), you understand that New York Election Law § 14-116 limits aggregate corporate/LLC contributions to $5,000 per calendar year statewide, and that an LLC making a political contribution must disclose its members to the State Board of Elections.
    • Any cash contribution does not exceed $100; contributions over $100 must be made by check, credit/debit card, or other written instrument (New York Election Law § 14-118).
    • You are making the contribution voluntarily and not in exchange for any promise, benefit, or official action.

Contributions are subject to the limits set by New York Election Law § 14-114. For a countywide judicial office such as this one, the per-contributor limit is calculated by a statutory formula based on the number of enrolled or registered voters in the county and is periodically adjusted for cost of living; please contact the Committee treasurer for the current applicable limit. Contributions are not tax-deductible for federal or New York State income tax purposes. Contributions may be non-refundable except as required by law or at the Committee’s discretion.

As required by law, the Committee reports certain contributor information to the New York State Board of Elections, where it becomes public record. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Note for the Committee treasurer/counsel: The per-contributor § 14-114 limit changes with voter counts and the periodic cost-of-living adjustment. Do not publish a fixed dollar figure without confirming the current-cycle number with the New York State Board of Elections. Confirm the exact committee registration form and filing board for the current cycle, and the donor-eligibility attestation wording on the donation form.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Site only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:

    • Use the Site in any way that violates applicable local, New York State, or federal law or regulation;
    • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, its servers, or any connected systems or networks;

While we strive to keep information accurate and current, we make no guarantee as to its completeness or reliability.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Committee and its officers, treasurer, staff, volunteers, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or profits, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction with the Site is to stop using it.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Committee and its officers, treasurer, staff, volunteers, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your violation of these Terms, your User Submissions, or your misuse of the Site.

13. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information, including information we are required by New York law to report publicly.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Kings County, New York.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
